For the improvement of the intellectual and
cultural standard the town maintained an open-air theatre
of estimated capacity 16.400 seats compared to 9000 of
the equivalent in Epidauros, masterpiece of the architect
Polykleitos. In the area, as preserved today, many
cultural demonstations are still taking place. |
