Built on the high hill of Argos, "Larisa". Its creation is dated back to the 6th B.C. century. During the Byzantine times the castle bastion of the Byzantine dominance and in 1203 comes in the possession of the lord of Nafplio, Leodas Sguros. |
| During the period 1212 - 1388, owners of the castle are the Byzantines. The Venetian domination follows(1394 - 1463). The Turkish possession of the castle(1463 - 1822) is interrupted only during the years 1686 - 1715, when Morozini becomes owner of the hill Larisa. The castle is liberated in 1822. |

The castle : The outer horseshoe yard has entrance in the SW and is reinforced with bastions and quadrangular, circular, octagonal and triangular castles. The fortress is formed south from a second inner yard. The medieval phase is based on two old-time ones.
