At the opposite seashore of Portoheli the relics of the ancient town of Alici are to be found. Aliki(the land of the fishermen) is the deserted town Pafsanias found in 166, when he visited Ermioni. It was, probably, destroyed at the end of the 4th B.C. century during a soil alternation which resulted for many towns to go underwater such as Kehries, Ancient Epidauros, Alieis.

 

Huge hotel buildings are situated on the ring of the beach, to accommodate the numerous domestic and foreign tourists who crowd the beaches of the area every summer for their vacation.
